"Dance away, liar"
It feels like it's been far too long, but it's nice to see another cool song by Deco*27 with yet another interesting mix of instruments and an interesting style which demonstrates his musical creativity. With some of the songs he has released over the past year, hopefully we will be hearing about another album announcement sometime soon.
Notes:
-逝く (Iku) which Deco used twice in the song during the balloon reference is usually used as a euphemism for "to die" instead of the usual "to go" for Iku/Yuku
-For the word "omoide" (memory/recollection) Deco subbed in a kanji for the "i" that is written in hiragana, making 思い出 into 思遺出. That 遺 can mean things like "ruins" "left behind" "residue" "after-effects" or that kind of thing.
-Deco-sama also used the word 寝抱って which if read by the kanji means "held onto while sleeping" but since it's not really a word it is probably more a reference to the verb "ねだる" (which would be read the same) and is used for things like "extorting, cajoling, exploit ones relationship to get something".
-Finally the line about the moon. Looking it up on google immediately brings up all these things that imply that writer Natsume Soseki coined it as an indirect way to confess love. So that is what is going on there at the end. Perhaps it is wrong not to translator note it in the song or just translated it as "I love you" but I just went ahead with the "face-value" translation. People who consume lots of Japanese media related to love/relationships will probably get it anyway (unlike me)
