A French designer's luxurious 189-euro-a-night "Bubble Hotel" brings innovation to a night of stargazing. For guests, the bubble conveys a sense of magic and surprise.

For those wishing to escape the city of lights and fall asleep under the glow of the stars, French designer Pierre-Stephane Dumas' Bubble Hotel in the outskirts of Paris offers a unique solution.

For 189 euros a night, plus food, champagne and optional chamber music from the local music school, he is offering frameless structures that give guests all the comfort of a five-star hotel room, with a chance to gaze at the night skies.

Strategically placed in areas chosen for their natural beauty, the air-filled bubble rooms allow guests to look up through a transparent dome and observe the night sky.

Dumas, the creator of the structures, believes that it represents a rare chance to connect with nature in an increasingly frenetic modern world.

[Pierre-Stephane Dumas, Designer of "Bubble Hotel"]:

"For four or five years humanity has been made up more of urban people than rural people, and it seemed important to me... It makes up one of the beautiful experiences of life to spend at least one night under the stars, and so to do it under interesting conditions with an environmental approach"

The bubble is situated near the bucolic grounds of the Chateau of Malmaison, home to Josephine de Beauharnais, Napoleon's wife.

Despite this historical backdrop, the bubble itself is an innovative, modern structure that relies on complex air currents to remain inflated.

[Pierre-Stephane Dumas, Designer of " Bubble Tree"]:

"What we have there is a structure without a frame, and so it is only the air that we send in to it continually that upholds the structure, this allows us at once to continually send in air, renew the air and then, especially, to avoid condensation and humidity so that we don't have the problem that one often encounters in tents; so that we have a truly healthy habitat."

For guests, the bubble conveys a sense of magic and surprise:

The project's popularity attests to the continuing desire to be immersed in nature, and to enjoy the timeless pleasure of spending a night under the stars.
