Hello YouTube Friends,
KISS "Keep It Simple Sharpening"

This video is viewer request. A viewer just purchased for his son his first survival knife; I say "Awesome". The sharpening equipment this viewer owns is an Arkansas Tri-Hone Sharpener. What I found on line about Arkansas Tri-Hone Sharpening Systems is they come with a coarse Silicon Carbide Stone around 200 Grit, a medium Arkansas Stone around 600 Grit and a Hard Arkansas Stone between 800-1000 Grit. The Washita Arkansas stone is both the softest and most coarse and the grit is between 400-600 Grit. I do my best to show the stones in this system but I don't have a Washita Arkansas Stone. My tri-hone system in this video consists of a Medium Arkansas, Hard Arkansas and Surgical Black Arkansas. I believe these three stones did a great job "honing' an already sharp Buck 119 knife and also did a wonderful job refining the scratch pattern. I hope this video helps encourage you kind folks to give Arkansas stones a serious look and considering adding them to your sharpening supplies if you don't already own a few.
