I was finally able to cover a Kikuo song!
You guys don’t know for how long I’ve waited to do something by him, I mean, I wrote those lyrics for his other song “Breaking Things” years ago but never got to record it. So yes, this is a a good day. I also just wanna say that if you like this song, you’re gonna LOVE Kikuo and Hanatan’s newest collaboration album because his songs paired with her voice are beyond amazing. Anyway fangirl-ing aside, I feel like this is Lost One’s Weeping all over again because hoooooly crap those notes. I swore I’d never scream sing again and yet here I am. I’m sure there are also going to be complaints about the lyrics (as if there aren’t always ha) since I had to bend some lines to be singable on long high notes (ya know, that thing, sing-ability ha). So lemme just address those future complaints:

➤ [This I know] is supposed to be [Forever] ➔ I pushed it to the phrase before so I could sing an “o” vowel

➤ “What? [Carry me] isn’t in there??” ➔ You’re right but I wanted to convey the feeling of wanting to be saved and taken away

➤ Why u put [world of the dead]?!! ➔ The original just said “sekai” but again I wanted a singable vowel and add impact of this nightmare world

Ehh there’s more I’m sure but this is such an art song and open ended that I decided to make executive decisions on certain lines. If you’ve got more questions, feel free to fill a bathtub with the original kanji and bathe in it. Kikuo is great, Hanatan is queen, this video is dank yo, have a good time!
