A Cambodian Army officer stationed in the region where Pol Pot

is believed to have claimed on Friday (20/6) that Pol Pot would

surrender "in two or three days."

Cambodian Deputy Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel Man Sa, made

the claim a day before the country's two leaders announced Pol

Pot was in custody.

Lieutenant Colonel Man Sa in Khmer roughly translated SOT:

saying Pol Pot disagrees with Tamok (one of his closest

officers) and Pol Pot will surrender in two or three days. He

says Pol Pot's situation is very bad and Pol Pot cannot stay as

he is because foreigners (Thai, China, Laos or others) will not

help him. He (Pol Pot) has no food, no medicine and will

therefore be finished soon but with the problem inside Cambodia
