Mella Thiranthathu Kathavu is a refreshingly different heart-warming love story between two visually challenged individuals Santhosh and Selvi. Santhosh is the son of a multi-millionaire, who in a fatal accident not only loses his parents but also his eyesight. He then joins an institute for the visually impaired, where he meets Selvi, a simple charming middle class visually impaired girl. They are so blinded by their love for each other that they are unaware of the fact that there are forces among them that wish to see them separated for personal reasons. The extent to which they go to protect each other from being separated and whether they regain their vision to achieve their dreams forms the rest of the story. This endearing love story will take us into the bright, cheerful and colourful world of the very self-sufficient and independent visually impaired people, who go about their everyday life, just as any of us would do. There will be no unnecessary moping or attempt to arouse empathy, instead the characters are coined to be real with simplicity and beauty that we will fall in love with and get totally engrossed. The story will instill faith and hope in relationships and will reinforce the fact that the visually impaired requires our support more than the relentless sympathy.
