One of them was written by Chu Minh Kỳ, but I am not sure if he is the one who also wrote the Vietnamese lyrics to the version that I am featuring in this music clip]

上海灘 (The Bund) is a 1980 Hong Kong drama TV series, starring Chow Yun-fat, Angie Chiu and Ray Lui. The series theme song, "Bến Thượng Hải (Shanghai Beach)," is very popular throughout Asia and originally was sung and made famous by Hong Kong singer Frances Yip. However, in this music clip, I am featuring the Vietnamese version, performed by two of the top names in Vietnam music and entertainment for several decades, Hoạ Mi & Elvis Phương.

Although, Hoa Mi and Elvis Phuong are our two very experienced, solid singers with great voices and they delivered a lovely duet here, I only wished that we could have the same instrumental and musical arrangements to their recording of this song as Andy Lau's version. His was a full orchestra, pretty cool.

I've also uploaded the Cantonese version, performed by Andy Lau, one of my favorite Hong Kong actors/singers/film producers. Although I have not watched this drama series, I've always liked its theme song. It's one of my all-time favorite Chinese melodies.

In my upload of Andy Lau's version, I've translated the main meaning (thus, it's not a word-for-word translation) of the song into English to the best of my ability so that my AMP friends worldwide may have an understanding of what the song is about. ~WhiteLibraTexas~
