"Nicholas Fuentes, the budding right-wing provocateur who said last week that he was leaving Boston University amid purported death threats, plans to enroll at Auburn University in Alabama next spring.
The 19-year-old political science major said he’ll continue his far-right-wing activism and views Auburn as a more hospitable place to do it. “At BU, I was basically limited to doing things online,” Fuentes said Monday. “At Auburn, because it's more conservative territory, I think there will be more opportunities for actual recruiting on campus.”
After attending the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. — an experience that, despite the death of a protestor, he described in a social media post as “incredible” — Fuentes told the Globe that things had grown increasingly dangerous at BU, where his “Make America Great Again” hat and controversial views had widely drawn the ire of students and faculty.”*
