In the same year that Chicago rapper Chief Keef began releasing mixtapes and scored a local hit with “Bang,” he was arrested. It was Dec. 2011, and Keef was 16. He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, though the rumors initially had him shooting it out with Chicago police—the sort of scene that brings to mind images of Tupac in ‘93. Just a little over a year after that arrest, he released his major label debut, Finally Rich. And on Thursday, January 26, 2017, he was arrested again, this time on charges of robbery and assault.
