A late Romantic work for solo piano and orchestra by Russian-Norwegian composer Issay Dobrowen (1891-1953). Dobrowen is better known as an orchestral conductor, particularly for his work with the Gothenburg Symphony and for a classic recording of the opera "Boris Godunov" by Modest Mussorgsky with the famous bass Boris Christoff. His own compositions have unfortunately remained in neglect, although they share many of the best qualities of Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Medtner's music.
