Botox leads the procedural pack accounting for over 6 million procedures last year. Also note, these patients are not just one and done. Being perfect all the time can become a very life-consuming addiction. Fifty percent of people who seek plastic surgery are actually repeat patients.
Not only is plastic surgery addictive and convenient, it can also be expensive. The revolving door of augmentations like boob jobs, liposuction and face lifts can definitely cushion the bank accounts of practices. Well, what happens when people who wish to have their desired surgery, don’t have that kind of dough to spend? Some patients will horrifyingly turn to hole-in-the-wall “clinics,” who do not have an operating license, or even try to do the surgery themselves. A recent trend called “pumping parties,” involve women injecting things like concrete and super glue into their breasts and backsides to help achieve the curves they’ve always wanted. Needless to say, this puts a whole new meaning to “junk in the trunk.”
