___ About this song Richard Bona said: "My mother always told me that if you talk to people you can find a solution to any problem. Each time people fight it's because they did not talk. Eyala is a plea for communication. Men aren't always great communicators; that's why there are wars, guns rather than words."

___ "Jazz bassist Richard Bona was born and raised in the West African nation of Cameroon, going on to session dates with Joe Zawinul, Regina Carter and Bob James as well as a two-year stint as musical director for the great Harry Belafonte. He made his debut as a headliner in 1999, with "Scenes from My Life", and two years later "Reverence" came out. In 2003, Bona made his Verve debut with Munia: The Tale, which explored the territories of rock and jazz while keeping his West African influences, and 2005's Toto Bona Lokua was a joint effort with Lokua Kanza (from the Congo) and Gerald Toto (from Martinique). In 2006, Tiki, featuring guest artists like John Legend and Djavan, was released."

“In 2009 Nelson started to work on his biggest project to-date, Before they Pass Away. He travelled for 3 years and photographed more than 35 indigenous tribes around the world in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the South Pacific, using a 50-year-old 4x5in camera. He said that the project was "inspired by Edward Sheriff Curtis and his great photographs of Native Americans". The tribes that Nelson photographed include the Huli and Kalam tribes of New Guinea, the Tsaatan of Mongolia and the Mursi people of the Omo River valley in southern Ethiopia.”
