This programme features highlights from a gala concert given at Stuttgart's Hegelsaal celebrating the perennially popular music of the Austro-Hungarian composer of operettas, Franz Lehár (1870-1948) with extracts of Lehár’s operettas "Die Lustige Witwe" (The Merry Widow), "Das Land des Lächelns" (The Land of Smiles) and "Zigeunerliebe" (Gipsy Love). For this musical feast of melody and romance, Regina Klepper, Martina Dorak, Francisco Araiza and Werner Schneyder are accompanied by the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Roland Seiffarth.
