Kajol (born: 5 August 1974), is an Indian film actress who predominantly works in Bollywood cinema. Born into the Mukherjee-Samarth family. Her mother, Tanuja, is an actress, while her father Shomu Mukherjee was a film director and producer. Kajol made her acting debut with the unsuccessful romantic drama Bekhudi (1992).

Kajol got married with Ajay Devgan on 24 February 1999. On 20 April 2003, Kajol gave birth to a daughter, Nysa. On 13 September 2010, she gave birth to a son, Yug.
