So you can imagine the most luxury planes are way beyond what most will ever afford.

In this list we'll be showing you 5 of the most expensive planes in the world. (Excluding Military)

5) Boeing 747-8 VIP – $153 million.

This “VIP” model of the Boeing 747-8 is called the “Dreamliner” and features an exclusive design with all of the latest technology.

Some of the features include vaulted ceilings, video displays on the walls, and spiral staircases.

The normal 747-8 Intercontinental can seat 467 passengers, although this pimped out version seats quite a few less because of the extravagant additions.

This ultimate private jet will set you back $153 million, which is cheap compared to some of the other jets on this list.

It is owned by Hong Kong real estate billionaire Joseph Lau.

4) Boeing 747-400 Custom – $220 million

This customized version of the Boeing 747-400 was fitted with two luxury bedrooms, a dining table for 14 people, and just to help feed the ego of the person who owns it there's a throne in the middle of the plane.

Probably comes to no surprise that its a royal who own this plane.

Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia purchased this exclusive jet back in 2003 for $220 million.

3) Boeing 747-430 Custom – $233 million

Another jet own by royalty, originally this jet costed $100 million, but the owner the Sultan of Brunei wasn't satisfied with the lack of luxury.

So he spend and extra $130 million to basically turn everything into gold.

The walls have gold detailing all over the plane, the living room, bedroom and bathroom are all decorated in gold and crystals, and the washbasins are made from solid gold.

All together this custom jet has a price tag of $233 million.

2) Airbus A340-300 Custom - $350-$500 million

Ever wondered how the richest man in Russia travels?

Well this custom Airbus A340 is owned by billionaire Alisher Usmanov and originally costed $238 million.

However Ushmanov wasn't satisfied either and remodeled the plane to fit his every need.

It has a range of technology, and the interior is pure luxury.

The estimated cost of the plane after all its added extras range from $350 to $500 million.

1) Airbus A380 Custom – $500 million

This is the most expensive private jet in the world and its owned by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia.

Yes that's the same Prince Al-Waleed who owns number 4 on our list.

This plane has everything including a two car garage, a room just for the princes hawks, a stable, multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, showers and of course all the standard luxury features you'd expect from private jets.

Not only is it the most expensive but also the largest commercial plane, and it costs a whopping $500 million.

This means Prince Al-Waleed has already spent $720 million just on jets, and I wouldn't be surprised if he owned a few more.
