An interview with Rob Byus (Bass Player for Blake Shelton) on what it takes to be a working musician in Nashville.
Rob grew up playing trumpet in St. Albans, West Virginia. Inspired by Led Zeppelin and a heavy dose of 80's rock, he taught himself how to play bass guitar in high school. After attending West Virginia State University on a full music scholarship, Rob moved to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in music. He started playing with Blake Shelton in 1995, and serves as his band leader to this day. Rob's diverse list of influences include Charlie Hayward, John Paul Jones, Jaco, Mike Brignardello, Glen Worf, James Jamerson, Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters, Incubus, Glen Hughes, Chuck Rainey and Michael Rhodes. He hopes to use Trypta-Phunk as a vessel to become Twitter's most followed bass player from West Virginia who plays for Blake Shelton and Trypta-Phun
