Sometime, probably in early 1986, Stewart Home declared March 24 "International Neoist Day". What he neglected to mention was that this was his birthday. Ha ha! Monty Cantsin & I decided to dedicate the day to shooting a single frame super-8 movie. She'd done this before & knew that it's both fun & a challenge to keep going. Around this time, D.J. at F.O.M.T., in Northern Ireland, had sent me a series of something like 22 cassettes recording an entire day in his life. He plays w/ his kids, drinks hard, & generally has a full & busy day. On International Neoist Day, Monty & I listened to all these tapes in order so that they cd be the soundtrack for our day of filming. Given that the visuals are a time-lapse record of our day, I sped up D.J.'s cassettes for the parallel audio. It's also worth noting that I no longer have this film - only this transfer of it. The film itself was sent to Howard Parker in California. As I recall, perhaps incorrectly, Howard was one of the members of the "6 Fingers Club", as it was known to some, if not all, of us. The 6FC was a correspondence group that consisted of D.J. @ F.O.M.T. in Northern Ireland, David Zack in Mexico, myself, Nunzio Mifune in San Antonio, TX, Parker, &, perhaps, others - "Blaster" Al Ackerman? D.J. wd send an airmail letter that he called "circulars" to one of the members of the 6FC & that person wd add to it & send it on to the next. I was somewhere in the middle of this chain. That way we all got to read the same letter from him. The 6FC was a reference to an R.A.Lafferty story called "The 6 Fingers of Time". - September 22, 2010E.V. notes from Monty Cantsin
