Joshua Wong, the teenager who became the public face of the Hong Kong protest movement has criticised Britain's Prime Minister for failing to challenge the visiting Chinese President over human rights abuses in Hong Kong and on the Chinese mainland. Last year Joshua Wong mobilised thousands of protestors in demonstrations against the Chinese government's plans for political reform. The protests failed to persuade China to grant a fully democratic vote for the city's next leader in 2017. And voters will choose instead from a list of candidates Beijing has approved. Meanwhile 19 year old Joshua returns to Hong Kong next week to face charges of unlawful assembly - with up to 5 years in jail for his role in spearheading the so-called Umbrella movement.
