All you sea farers out there, forget about those typical little row boats, jetskis, and luxury yachts. If you’re going to venture out into the vast sea, why not ride something a little more unique?

9. Iguana 29 Amphibious Boat
Seeing a boat on land is one of those things that take you aback for a second, but just know that the Iguana 29 is designed to be both on land and in the water. When on land, it lowers to little tank treads and then retracts them when it gets back on the water--it makes for getting from the water and gets safely through land a lot easier. These things cost around $290,000 and have a top speed of 35 knots.

10. The Schiller X1
The Schiller x1 is a model of a water bike, and is perfect for cyclists that are a bit tired of the regular landscape of dirt and pavement and want a bit of a change of scenery. It’s probably the closest thing to walking on water, so that’s some extra cool points. The product went on sale from Schiller Sports back in 2014, when they cost about $6,495.

8. Plane Boat
It’s a boat, it’s a plane, it’s a….plane boat? No really, it’s called a Plane Boat and its the conversion of two modes of transportation you probably never thought of. Although, technically, the Jolly Roger in Peter Pan is kind of like a Boat Plane. The Plane Boat you see here is a Boeing 307 Stratoliner from the 30s that been put together with a boat hull, with the plane parts once having belonged to the famous Howard Hughes. And it would be something that Howard Hughes owned that would turn into a chimera of a ship. What’s more is that its name is official Cosmic Muffin.

7. Turanor Planet Solar
Also simply called PlanetSolar, this boat is considered the largest solar powered boat in the world and was designed by LOMOcean Design. It was launched back in 2010 and cost about 15 Million euros to make. This strange UFO looking ship measures at 31 meters long, and is covered in 537 meters squared of solar panels--which connect to 2 electric motors, so talk about eco-friendly. PlanetSolar would go on to be the first solar electric vehicle to circumnavigate the world in 2012 and then would break its own record a year later.

6. The Seabreacher
Seabreacher submarines are considered personal watercraft and while they’re probably cool to sit in, it’s even cooler to look at from as distance since they’re all designed in the shape of sea creatures, most commonly dolphins. Why a dolphin? Well it was designed to imitate a dolphin’s movement through the water, a design developed by engineers from New Zealand for the company Innespace, based in the United States. They measure at a length of 5.27 meters, or 17.3 feet.

5. Nautilimo
This...is exactly what it looks like: a limo that can make its way through the water. Sure, it’s a bit gaudy but that doesn’t make it any less fun. If you’re ever out in the waters of the Florida Keys, you’ll most likely spot this pink limo cruising through the clear ocean. The old Cadillac was refashioned into a sea vessel and nowadays takes visitors out on the water, leading them to a swim or even to a snorkeling session.

4. Tokyo Cruise Ship
It may look a little too sleek to be a bus but this water bus manufactured by Toyota can be found in the Port of Tokyo and the Sumida River. Riding these is a popular tourist attraction and nothing is more futuristic than something that looks like it’s come right out of sci-fi.

3. Proteus Catamaran
The Proteus Catamaran looks more like an alien of a sea beast out on the water than it does a watercraft. It’s considered an “experimental” kind of vessel that was developed by Marine Advanced Research, having launched in the year 2007. It measures at a length of 95.2 ft long and travels at a top speed of 30 knots. The outriggers store over 2,000 gallons of fuel and has a maximum cargo hold of 2 tons.

2. The Sea Shadow
Honestly, what’s a cooler name than “The Sea Shadow?” Probably nothing, as hardly anything looks cooler than it, either. It might look like some ship sailing through a dystopian city, but it’s actually a Navy Stealth Ship that was sold to The Bay Ship and Yacht Company. It cost 172 million to develop and was sold for about $2.5 million in an auction. That might seem like a steep drop, but keep in mind the ship is actually over 30 years old at this point. It measures at 70 ft wide and mas a max speed of 14 knots.

Johan’s Ark
And then we get to the mother of all ships ever. If the shape looks familiar, that’s because it’s clearly been inspired by all the drawings of ark barges throughout history, though we all know that Noah’s Ark is the first one to come to mind. This ship was built by Johan Huibers, a building contractor and carpenter from the Netherlands. He’s clearly a creationist, which is what fueled the ambition to build such a contraption in the modern day. There’s even little animal models placed on board, with the whole project having taken 4 years to complete.
