As a trans-woman, Pia spends most of her childhood vying for her parents’ love and approval. Despite their close-mindedness and abuse, Pia works hard and sacrifices her own well-being to support them and her siblings. Because of this, Pia becomes upset when she sees her parents showering Lester, an abandoned child, with their love. Though initially annoyed with his presence, she eventually comes to care for Lester as well. As the years pass, Pia loves and raises him as her own child. However, she lives in fear that Lester will abandon her one day.
