It’s a little hard to figure out what’s going for those of you who haven’t seen the full episode. Basically, they’re role playing historical figures, each with a different status. The hierarchy goes like this:
(Status: highest) Emperor = Xiao Zhu
(Status: middle/high) National division = Huang Bo
(Status: middle/low) Merchant = Zhou DongYu (the girl); Scholar = Sun HongLei
(Status: low) The emperor’s servants = Zhang Yixing, Huang Lei, Wang Xun
They are all fighting for the emperor's position, and can "kill" anyone that's exactly one status above theirs and if they succeed, the two will exchange positions. The emperor, Xiao Zhu, can order his servants. Hence, Yixing was trying to stop Honglei, who was trying to "kill" Huang Bo, Huang Bo was trying to "kill" the emperor.
