A Georgia Air National Guard official said a military plane that crashed in Savannah, Georgia, resulted in the deaths of airmen. Senior Master Sgt. Roger Parsons of the 165th Airlift Wing declined to say how many people were killed, but confirmed that “there were airmen on the plane that were deceased.”
He said the mortuary affairs team is headed to the crash scene. An interim safety board is also securing the area so they can investigate the cause of the crash, Parsons added.
This is an update to a previous report than showed incorrect footage.
