10. Calvin Harris
Now a worldwide sensation, it’s hard to believe Calvin Harris ever looked like anything but the sandy-haired, cut DJ we recognize today. But back in the early 2000s, he was sporting black hair, different teeth, and a style that’s more akin to Hot Topic instead of GQ.

9. Aishwarya Rai
She’s one of Bollywood’s biggest stars and was Miss World back in 1994. Aish Rai is famous not only for her acting chops, but for being considered as one of the most beautiful women in the world. During and after her pregnancy in 2011, she gained a noticeable amount of weight, which she slowly shed the next 3 years.

8. Mickey Rourke
Most people think of female stars being the ones undergoing plastic surgery, but Mickey Rourke shows there’s no gender discrimination under the knife. He apparently did some reconstructive surgery after alcoholism and boxing had messed up his face, but not many favor the results. He seemed to have gained some of his old features in 2014.

7. Edward Furlong
Best known for playing the youngest version of John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Edward Furlong is no stranger to the effects of Hollywood and what it does to many young stars. Ever since the turn of the century, Furlong’s career hasn’t had the same acclaim it once had in the 90s. The past 17 years have been one of drug addiction, weight gain, rehab stints and the like. Still, Furlong manages to stay in showbiz and is working to this day. His photo from his teen years is a far cry from what he looks like now.

6. Taylor Momsen
First appearing in the 2000 film Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Taylor Momsen didn’t gain as much popularity until she starred in the CW teen soap Gossip Girl as once innocent Jenny Humphrey. She goes through a style change on the show which seemed to reflect her rocker makeover in real life. Her natural blonde hair and cutesy fashion sense were swapped for bleach blonde and usually all-black and more revealing attire. She currently fronts the band The Pretty Reckless.

5. Bella Hadid
Yet another plastic surgery story that isn’t confirmed. Daughter of former supermodel Yolanda Foster and younger sister of it-girl Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid has made her own name relevant in the fashion world, especially after starting her own modelling career, starring in a Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and dating the Weeknd. Older photos from 2010 surfaced and it ed many to believe she had some rhinoplasty done recently, as the model is only 20 years old.

4. Lana Del Rey
Her birthname is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, which she shorted to Lizzie Grant as her stage name for a few years before finally transforming into Lana Del Rey. With her changed name came a changed style. When her music career wasn’t taking off as she and her managers had hoped, she took on a different persona who wore different clothes and had a different name. Speculation arose when pictures old pictures resurfaced, which show Lana not only had a different style, but perhaps a new nose and lip work as well, though she denied having had anything done.

3. Nicole Richie
The 35 year old grew up as Hollywood Royalty. She’s the niece of Sheila E. and the adopted daughter of Lionel Richie. After starring in the reality show The Simple Life with then-bff Paris Hilton in 2003, she became much more well-known. Perhaps it was just the early 2000s that are to blame for her less-refined fashion tastes, but after being diagnosed with hypoglycemia and readjusting her diet and exercise because of it, Nicole Richie lost a noticeable amount of weight between 2003 and 2006. Not only that, but her sense of fashion has evolved as well, into something more chic and sophisticated.

2. Matthew Lewis
So the Harry Potter fandom has come with its share of surprises and plot twists. Outside of the books, the biggest was probably the transformation of Matthew Lewis, the actor who plays awkward Neville Longbottom in the films. His two-front teeth were his staple feature, as well as his awkward haircuts and, once he got past puberty, his skinny frame. So who knew that this bumbling pudgy-faced boy who played the almost Chosen One would transform as he did? Seems like studying all that magic paid off.

Christian Bale
No other actor’s body transformations can quite compare to what Christian Bale’s been doing, at least in the past 15 years. In 2004, Bale lost 62 pounds for his role in The Machinist only to have to gain it all back to film Batman Begins a few months later. As Batman, he had to gain weight and exercise to gain muscles. He lost weight again for the 2010 film The Fighter where he played Dicky Eklund, who was a drug addict. He bulked up again for The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 and then gained 43 pounds a year later for American Hustle. Say what you want about his acting ability (which has gotten him Golden Globes and Oscars) but you can’t say the man isn’t dedicated.
