A YEAR AT ATEN ENGLISH

Hello my friends, my name’s Luân, 20 years old. I’m a junior in University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and a care assistant at Aten English Branch 7.

Today, I want to talk to you a story about a year , from the first day I went to there up to now.

I started learning English when I was grade 3. 9 years later I graduated high school. But, many things that I learned just said: Hello; hi; what’s your name; my name is Luân; how are you; I’m fine, thank you, and you ?

Forcedly, with the very poor knowledge of English, I can not communicate with people around me by English. I’m really ashamed when my friend in my university class practice speaking English.

I can not apply for a part time job of a cafeteria in Bui Vien street without English. I lose a 100% scholarship to go to study in Korea because my English is so bad. Although my result of many physical subjects are really good.

So I decide to learn English to Taking back my Opportunity . But everything was not ease as I though . I could not make anything that the teacher said in to my brain. Because, It’s too hard and boring. That was the time I hate English most.

I gave up , I stayed at home and though a very reasonable reason by my self: I’m not belong to English and I’m not fit to learn English

This was the time of the end of the first year in university after I tried to learn English. I haven’t learn English for a year and forget everything.

But, one day in a very beautiful morning. When I was slepping in my lazy bed. Phong, my close friend wake me up and said: Luan, I have 2 tickets of a Marketing workshop. Brush your teeth and follow me ! HHm… That was a interesting program. I played a game, answered several questions . And luckily, they gave me a 100% scholarship to study English at Aten Branch 7. I afraid to receive a big present because I worry I can not learn English anymore. I hated English and I want to live a life with out English……

Finally I decide to try a last time.

Aten made me the inspiration to learn English. My teacher in Pronunciation, communication 1 and communication 2 is Barry Mc Cathy. He made me feel that we didn’t have to study, we enjoy English. Friends in Eten are also friendly and kind. We played English games , talked together, joked each other and laugh so much.

I regained basic of English little by little. Although failed 2 times at pronunciation and com 1. But after complete this course. I was more confident so could be talk with foreigner by English.

It was not enough And I do a thing I ever though before: Working for an English school. Became a care assistant at Aten. It was a difficult decision. I applied and the manager accepted. Mr Vinh told me: Because you had a good effort so I will give you an opportunity. Im so happy, working hard to improve my English and made many people like me in the past the motivation to learn English better.

Today, through this video, I want to thanks Aten English for your support for a long time. I hope in the future. You will have more interesting programs like this. So students can be challenge and practice English to improve themselves
