Vijay (born 22 June 1974), is an Indian film actor and playback singer who works in the Tamil film industry. Vijay was born to film director S. A. Chandrasekhar and Shoba. He is a Roman Catholic by birth, He had a sister Vidhya, who died at the age of two years.

On 25 August 1999, Vijay married a Sri Lankan Tamil girl, Sangeetha Sornalingam. The couple has two children, a son Sanjay and a daughter Divya.
