Lumayo Kaman Sa Akin Rodel Naval Lyrics

Lumayo ka man sa akin

At ako'y iyong limutin

Masakit man sa damdamin

Pilit pa rin titiisin.

Mga lumipas na ligaya

Ang kahapong may pag-asa

Mga pangarap na walang hanggan

Ay naglaho paglisan mo, mahal ko.

* Pagkat saan ka man naroroon

Pintig ng puso ko'y para sa iyo

Naghihirap man

Ang aking damdamin

Nagmamahal pa rin sa iyo giliw

Limutin man kita'y di ko magawa

Hindi pa rin ako nagbabago

Ang pag-ibig ko sa iyo'y

Lagi mong kasama.

Mga sandaling ligaya

Kung ikaw ang siyang kasama

Sana ay di na natapos pa

Wala ng nais pang iba.

Sa gabi'y naaalala

Nalulumbay pagkat wala ka

Ang yakap mo'y aking inaasam

Sana'y maulit pang muli

Mahal ko. (REPEAT *)

Tuluyan man tayong di magkita

Umaasa pa rin ako sinta

Pagkat mahal kita manalig ka

Walang katulad mo sa buhay ko

Ikaw lamang ngayon,

Bukas, kaylan man

Naririto ako asahan mo

Ang pag-ibig ko sa iyo'y

Lagi mong kasama.

Ang pag-ibig ko sa iyo'y

Lagi mong kasama.

However, after few days before his new stint began, the stage collapsed and the talent scout died of heart attack several days after the incident happened. He went back to Los Angeles miserable.

After ten years of disappearance in Philippine entertainment, Rodel made a comeback in 1990. He wrote hit song "Lumayo Ka Man" for only 15 minutes because of his loneliness he felt due the death of his mother. For only three months, the single turned triple platinum.

Though famous already, Rodel remained a mystery in showbusiness. He is not visible in the places where successful people like him would likely to be seen. He guarded his privacy zealously avoiding gossips and intrigues of showbiz. And if ever he did go out, it was only to perform of to promote his songs.

At the time he is almost at the top, Rodel began to feel sick. A series of check-up and hospitalization was dome to him but cannot diagnose what's wrong with him. At the same time, his sister made a long distance call telling him that somebody was interested to manage Rodel and also persuaded him to made an audition for Miss Saigon in Toronto. But he felt there was not enough projects specially his long-wished recording contract ever since the start of his career and his illness was still undiagnosed, he decided to go to Canada for medical check-up and for Miss Saigon as well.

After few days in Toronto, though very sick and weak, he still decided to go for audition accompanied by his brother. Astonishingly, he made it to first stage and was asked for the second audition in which the producer himself would choose fro the major roles. Before his second audition, he found out the result of his test and was seriously ill. He called Stephanie Gorin, the casting director and told her he cannot come for the second audition and not interested already because of his sickness. But Stephanie replied saying he is one of her top list and accept him without second audition.

He got his health again because of medications and decided to join Miss Saigon and was given the role as Assistant Commissar and Understudy for the Commissar for one year. In 1994, he was still able to perform two concerts, one in Toronto and the other in Los Angeles.
